Have you thought about coming to Ibiza with your girlfriends?

Ibiza is full of surprises for all ages, because there are so many ways you can live the island. Besides its famous nightlife, Ibiza has countless charms to explore and enjoy during the day, whether on the beach, on walks or on visits to its quaint villages. Whatever your character, there’s an Ibiza for you.

5 essential plans if this is your first trip to Ibiza with girlfriends

1. Must-see beaches
There are five beaches you must absolutely see during your first trip to the island: Ses Salines, Platges de Comte, Cala Benirrás, Cala d´Hort and Aigües Blanques. There are many more beaches that would make the Top 10 list, but these are the ones that must go up on your Instagram profile for sure.

2. Go shopping in La Marina and Dalt Vila
In the old part of the city of Ibiza, you will find many multi-brand boutiques to buy clothes and items by Spanish and international independent designers. Save an afternoon for a stroll through La Marina district and the high street in Dalt Vila, where you can buy Adlib clothes, pretty wicker baskets, alternative brands, food, Ibizan designs, hippie fashion...

3. Lose track of time in Ibiza’s street markets
Obviously, you’d already planned to do this, so we thought it would be useful to remind you that our hotel in Es Canar is only a short walk away from Punta Arabí, the oldest and biggest street market in Ibiza. You must go! This is open on Wednesdays and it’s the perfect plan to combine it with a paella at the Cala Martina beach bar that sits on the neighbouring beach with the same name. Another street market that you will surely want to visit with your girlfriends in Ibiza is Las Dalias market and this is also really near Hotel Ánfora: only a five-minute drive. In the summer, it opens several days a week depending on the month, but the main day is Saturday.

4. A stroll through Dalt Vila at sunset
The old part of the island’s capital is an absolute must-see on any trip to Ibiza with girlfriends. This part is within the city walls and was declared World Heritage by UNESCO along with the Phoenician remains of Sa Caleta, the Phoenician-Punic Necropolis in Puig des Molins and the posidonia oceanica meadow that stretches between Ibiza and Formentera. In the summer, it’s pleasant to stroll through its quiet narrow streets in the afternoon and walk on the city walls as the sun sets. Also, on the walk from Vila square to Sol square, you will pass charming restaurants with terraces that are perfect for a nice dinner.

5. Watch the sunset from a different place each day
Ibiza is full of spots to watch the sunset, so don’t settle for just one view. You can watch it from Café del Mar in Sant Antoni or the Khumaras bar in Cala de Bou; from the quaint Cala Escondida beach bar in Cala Conta; from Benirrás beach, to the northeast of Ibiza; from sa Penya Esbarrada (also known as the Puertas del Cielo) in Santa Agnés; and from the cliffs of Cala d´Hort.

6. Relax at a spa
If you’d like extra pampering, add to your girl getaway to Ibiza a relaxing afternoon with the massages and beauty treatments offered in our wellness room. And if you’re looking for a thermal experience, we suggest you head northwards to plunge into the impressive water circuit at Las Cascadas Suspendidas.

7. Get lost in an unspoilt cove
Once you’ve been seen on the most famous beaches, you might want to hide away on a quieter and even remote cove. If so, some of the best options to lay down your towel are the unspoilt coves of Caló d’en Serra, Cala Molí and Cala Boix. There are other exceptionally beautiful beaches very near Hotel Ánfora, such as Cala Nova and Cala Llenya.

8. Forget about time in our quaint villages
Ibiza hides other surprises inland. Find them by taking a tour of its villages, having coffee at one of the traditional bars or browsing its boutiques. If your trip to Ibiza with girlfriends is long enough, don’t miss a visit to Sant Carles de Peralta, Es Cubells, Sant Agustí, and the village of Santa Eulària des Riu, which is only a few minutes’ drive from Hotel Ánfora, with its temple as one of the best examples of the island’s fortified churches.

9. Eat rice or fish at a beach bar
Good restaurants abound in Ibiza for you to relish summer Mediterranean food, like paella, rice dishes and fish stews, grilled fish... Some of the traditional beach bars and restaurants that are most popular among the islanders, are Cala Martina, Can Pujol, Port Balanzat, Salvadó, Can Gat, Sa Caleta, Cala d´Hort and El Carmen.

10. A day-trip to Formentera
If you’re spending a week in Ibiza, you’ll be bound to visit our neighbouring island and enjoy its beautiful beaches with turquoise waters. As we said in our post, Spend a day at Formentera, it’s really easy to get to this paradise from Hotel Ánfora as the boats run by Santa Eulalia Ferry leave from Es Canar beach every day until the end of October. Alternatively, you can also take the boat from Ibiza port, with a higher frequency.
