Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera has grown in the last few years, but it’s still a small village with just a few streets distributed around the church with the same name, a simple temple built in the end of the XIX century. Inspite of its small size, Santa Gertrudis is very lively, especially in late afternoon, when the heat starts to remit and the terraces become full of travelers and residents from all parts of the island. This happens also out of season, although in the winter months its main street is obviously livelier under the midday sun.

A shopping afternoon
You don’t have to walk a lot to enjoy a shopping afternoon, since most of Santa Gertrudis’ shops are on the traffic free main street or around the church square. One of the most famous, that you’ll surely like is Cucons, whose selection goes from pottery to fashion complements. Other shops that are worth a visit are Aurobelle y Wanderlust with boho chic proposals; Origins, Aguas Blancas Ibiza and the stylish selection of men’s wear from Baron Ibiza.
Sitting at a table
You’ll find numerous options for lunch or dinner in Santa Gertrudis. If your visit is at lunch time, we recommend the famous Iberian ham sandwiches of Bar Costa, the vegetarian cuisine of Wild Beets or you can enjoy the economic daily menus of Ulivans (its gazpacho is addictive), a restaurant with truly homemade food. For the evening you’ve got, amongst others, the sophisticated Italian cuisine of Macao Café, the vegetarian proposals of Ecocentro and the Nikkei cuisine of the romantic Gitano restaurant.

Piece of advice
If there is a full moon during your visit to Ibiza, pop into Santa Gertrudis and enjoy the so called Full Moon of Art, a cultural event that offers live acts and a night market where numerous Ibiza artists and creators exhibit their work. It takes place in the church square and it goes from 07:00 PM till midnight and the next dates programmed for the summer are Wednesday 9th August and Sunday 3rd September.
